As I waited to board, I saw my top prospect head down the gateway.
I would have loved to talk with him, but he didn’t even know who I was. The waiting area wasn’t very crowded, and as I reached the gate agent, she smiled and said, “Open seating.”
I started down the aisle, and there was my prospect. The seat beside him was empty, so I settled in. It was a great flight – we exchanged ideas and he was genuinely interested in my product. It was a perfect fit for him and he was excited about sharing our discussion with his colleagues when he landed.
A short flight later, we exchanged business cards and planned a second meeting for the following week. It was a great day. A perfect day, in fact.
